He mentioned that there are three stages in golf. First of all, selecting the right equipment. The single most important factor for successfully introducing golf at the elementary level is selecting age-appropriate equipment. Secondly, putting and chipping. Once teachers have obtained the proper equipment, they can begin teaching students the basic skills of golf. The primary teaching cue that should be used when introducing a person of any age to putting and chipping is “tick-tock.” This one-two rhythm is the foundation of every stroke in golf, and many successful teachers use a metronome to keep the beat for individuals or the class as a whole. Lastly, the full swing. One of the easiest and most effective ways to help students develop correct swing mechanics is to use the alphabet as a visual reference. The important thing to remember as an elementary physical educator is to focus on introducing these skills in the simplest and most effective ways possible, while creating a fun environment where each student receives a lot of practice attempts.
Teachers must remember to concentrate on the three “P’s” (practice, patience, and positivity) in order to help their students get the most out of this experience.
Golf is a sport that can give children an outlet to pursue a lifetime of physical activity and can facilitate the development of valuable life lessons such as honesty, sportsmanship, and etiquette. However, so many teachers have never made it part of their curriculum(Vasil, J. (2006).
I think to make golf curriculum for children is promising opportunity in design area. I hope if I design golf curriculum for junior, a lot of elementary shcool students would be able to playing golf as well as enjoy their life time with their family.
